Step 1: Click your company name in the top-left corner.

Step 3: Choose โ€˜Leaveโ€˜.

Step 4: Enable โ€˜Allow Long Service Leaveโ€˜.

Step 5: Select the correct leave rate.

The amount of long service leave varies across states in Australia. Select the state you live in so your long service leave is accrued correctly.

Step 6: Enable โ€˜Long service leave balanceโ€˜ to display it on the payslip.

Please note that long service leave will accrue for full-time, part-time, and casual employees. If youโ€™d like to continue accruing leave without showing the balance on the payslip, simply untick the โ€˜Long service leave balanceโ€™ option.

Step 7: Click โ€˜Save changesโ€™ to finish.

Next, add the existing long service leave balance under Opening Balances.


Step 1: Go to โ€˜Peopleโ€˜.

Step 2: Select the relevant employee.

Step 3: Click the pen icon.

Step 4: Go to โ€˜Opening Balancesโ€˜.

Step 5: Enter the Long Service Leave balance.

Step 6: Click โ€˜Saveโ€˜.

Youโ€™ll now be able to add long service leave to pay runs.


Step 1: Select โ€˜+ New Pay Runโ€˜.

Step 2: Choose the payment date and click โ€˜Letโ€™s Start!โ€˜.

Step 3: Select โ€˜Moreโ€™.

Step 4: Click โ€˜Long Service Leaveโ€™.

Step 5: Enter the hours taken for long service leave.

Please note that when you are adding long service leave amounts, do not deduct these hours from the ordinary hours as this will affect the amount of pay calculated. Instead indicate how many hours of the ordinary hours are considered leave in the leave section.

Step 6: Complete the pay run as usual.
