Learn how to download an ABA file in Payroller
Learn how to download an ABA file in Payroller using our simple guide below. While Payroller calculates employee wages and generates reports for the ATO, it doesnโt allow direct debit or direct payroll withdrawals. Instead, youโll need to generate an ABA file and upload it to your banking provider to process payments.
What is an ABA file?
ABA files are used by Australian banks to track payments between bank accounts.
Generally, employers usually pay employees through an ABA file created automatically by their payroll software.
After you have the ABA file, just upload it to your online banking and authorise the payments.
There are three parts to setting up the ABA file in Payroller
Set up company account details
Step 1: Select your company profile.
Step 2: Go to โSettingsโ.
Step 3: Choose โPayroll & STPโ.
Step 4: Select โEmployee Paymentโ.
Step 5: Enter the account details.
Please note that for NAB, the APCA ID is not needed and will be ignored. Enter 000000 in this field to proceed.
Some banks require a self-balancing transaction in ABA files. Check with your bank to see if itโs needed. If so, tick โInclude Self Balancing Transactionโ.
Next, ensure that your employeesโ account details are set up.
